Fantezia Folk Dance Group, Moldova

 
 

Folk and Modern Dance Group was created in 1991 on the basis of the Choreographic Department of the Moldova State University of Arts.
Around 180 children and young people between the age of 6 through 25 are being trained here. They attend lessons in classical, folk and modern dances, as well as in the basics of Thai-chi.
Included in the performances of the "FANTEZIA" Folk Dance Group are folk dances of all nationalities living in Moldova, i.e. Moldavians, Russians, Hungarians, Romanians, Ukrainians, Jews, Gagauzians, Gypsies, etc.
Repertoire:
Traditional Moldavian songs and dances: "hora", "sirba", "batula", as well as Russians, Gypsy, Romanian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, etc. folk dances.
Awards:
"FOMGED" prize-winner, August, 1997; "Grand Prix" at the International Festival of Folk Dance in Antalya, Turkey.
Prize-winner at the International Art Festival "Slavianski Bazar" (Vitebsk, Belarus), May 2000.

STATUTE
The organization of the present festival is a point of intersection between the preservation of the cultural identity and the incorporation of the children to the dance art in the spirit of the European collaboration.
