Magurachik Children's Folklore Ensemble, Slovakia

 
 

 Magurachik Children's Folklore Ensemble was founded in 1975 and since its establishment it has systematically been collecting, preserving and interpreting the most beautiful customs, songs and dances of the Goral region in Slovakia. During its existence it has obtained a great success and a lot of important awards. It is a laureate of the Slovak Children's Folklore festival in Presov in 1985. It is cooperated with the Slovak radio and television. Magurachik has performed in Poland, Ukraine, Yugoslavia, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Lithuania and Italy.
Magurachik ia a member of the Slovak folklore union and the European Folklore Culture Organization in Strasbourg. It is one of the founders and organizers of the Internationale festival of folk costume doll in Kezhmarok, which is traditionally held in July.

STATUTE
The organization of the present festival is a point of intersection between the preservation of the cultural identity and the incorporation of the children to the dance art in the spirit of the European collaboration.
