Trakiyche Folklore Dance Ensemble

 

Trakiyche is a Bulgarian folklore ensemble, which was formed in the town of Sliven in 1975. Mircho Dermenski is its art director. Trakiyche consists of dancers, singers and musicians who perdform traditional folklore from eastern Bulgaria. About 2,000 children  aged 10 to 18 have been singing and dancing in the ensemble throughout the years. At present 96 children perform in Trakiyche. Through its 25-year history Trakiyche has given more than 1,800 concerts in Bulgaria and perfomed in almost all the countries of Europe. The ensemble is a winner ot three golden medals from national festivals that take place every four years in Bulgaria. Since 1984 Trakiyche has been granted the honorable title "a representative ensemble" for Bulgaria and the region of Sliven .
This year Trakiyche is the symbolic host of the festival.

STATUTE
The organization of the present festival is a point of intersection between the preservation of the cultural identity and the incorporation of the children to the dance art in the spirit of the European collaboration.
